A successful Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Workshop draws to a close a Moredun Research Institute, Edinburgh. Partners from across the PARAGONE consortium came together with scientists from the EU H2020 SAPHIR consortium (http://www.h2020-saphir.eu/) to learn about the design, analysis and interpretation of NGS experiments from field experts.
The 3-day course allowed the participants to learn about NGS technology (its values and limitations), discuss their future research plans and to network with other scientists across the two EU H2020 projects. The workshop has provided the setting for the NGS experiments that will start soon in PARAGONE and provides a link to a further 5-day workshop during which the new datasets will be explored and analysed.
Thank you to Dr Stewart Burgess (Moredun Research Institute) for organising the meeting, to all the participants for coming and actively engaging in the discussions and to our external speakers for delivering an excellent training opportunity.
