Laura Garza Cuartero has recently joined PARAGONE as a Post-doctoral research fellow at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University College Dublin (UCD). The aim is to develop vaccines to protect against Fasciola hepatica infection and host-interactions. She has been involved in a vaccine trial to test different antigens of this trematode, in collaboration with Zoetis.

She has obtained a PhD in the School of Veterinary Medicine (UCD) focused on deciphering the effect of F. hepatica infection on the response of macrophages to Mycobacterium bovis. Before that she was awarded with a Leonardo grant to do an internship at the same school, aiming to compare diagnostic techniques for the diagnosis of Cryptosporidium spp. She obtained her Veterinary Medicine Degree at the University of Zaragoza (Spain).
